Heirs of Danila the Master
An exhibition of all the nominees' works was held at the Fine Arts Museum in the framework of the contest. 116 young stone-cutters and jewelers took part in the project this year: they presented 150 works. The professional jury committee, consisted of well-known artists and representatives of jewelry and lapidary enterprises and profile universities, assessed all the works in two nominations: Best Lapidary Works and Best Jewelry Piece in three categories: pupils, students of colleges, and university students. In addition, a special People's Choice Award was awarded. The winner of this award was chosen by over 1000 exhibition visitors. The teachers were not left without attention: they got letters of appreciation.
Alexander Chamovskikh, owner of CHAMOVSKIKH MAGNIFIQUE Jewelry Holding and Chairman of the Jewelers Guild of the Urals, presented special awards to the participants of the competition. Three works were noted by the Jewelers Guild of the Urals, and four more designs won the recognition of CHAMOVSKIKH MAGNIFIQUE. The winners were awarded with certificates and valuable gifts.
Alexander Chamovskikh thanked the organizers of the contest – the Mineral Show and the Museum of Fine Arts – for interest in jewelry and lapidary, as well as for the experience transferred to the new generation:
"We also thank all the teachers who have been sharing their personal and professional knowledge, enthusiasm, and love to their 'heirs' for many years. And we wish young masters to continue the Ural Jewelry School traditions and conquer new peaks!"
